Cherry bagels


Ingredients for Cherry Bagels

Cooking air bagels with cherries:

Step 1: prepare the dough.

In order to start making the dough, we need to warm the milk. It is not necessary to bring it to a boil, the temperature should be approximately 35 - 40 degrees. This temperature is optimal for raising yeast. So, in a deep plate or bowl, mix the yeast and 4 tablespoons Sahara. Then pour this mixture with warmed milk, mix and leave for a while, but for now we will prepare the eggs. We wash them under running water and wipe them with kitchen towels, then set two small deep plates in front of us and, breaking one egg, separate the yolk from the protein. Break the second egg into a plate with protein, but no longer separate it. Add 1 tablespoon of milk to the yolk and mix thoroughly until smooth, we will need this mixture later. We return to the yeast, pour the egg with protein to them, add the necessary amount of sifted wheat flour and taste the salt. After that, we begin to knead the dough to a homogeneous consistency without lumps.

Step 2: melt the butter.

In a small pan we put a piece of butter and put on the burner. Turn on the temperature of the plate to a small level and with constant stirring, melt the butter. Leave the liquid to cool to room temperature.

Step 3: knead the dough.

After the butter has cooled slightly, pour it onto our kneaded dough and with clean hands, directly in the bowl we mix the fat into the dough. This process should take about 7 to 10 minutes.

Step 4: prepare the cherry.

We spread fresh cherry berries in a colander and rinse them under running water, then we wipe them with a kitchen towel and transfer them to a cup or other convenient container. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and mix thoroughly with berries. If you use cherry jam as a filling, then sugar is not necessary.

Step 5: forming bagels.

The filling for our bagels is prepared, so we can proceed directly to the preparation of baking. We spread our dough on a flat surface and cut it with a knife into 3 equal parts. After that, we arm ourselves with a rolling pin and roll each part into a round-shaped layer about 1 centimeter. Then cut it into 8 approximately the same lobules, all of a given amount of dough should be 24 slices, that is 24 bagels. Next, spread a cherry filling on the edge of these slices with a teaspoon. We wrap a slice in a bagel, we fasten the edges of our confectionery so that the filling does not leak. Now cover the baking sheet with baking paper, spread the formed bagels and leave them for 15 minutes next to the stove.

Step 6: bake bagels.

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius and after 15 minutes, using a kitchen brush, grease the baking surface with a mixture of milk and egg yolk. Prepared bagels put in the oven bake on 10 minutes. During this time, they will be covered with a delicious ruddy crust and completely cooked. We take out the finished baked goods from the oven, helping ourselves with kitchen gloves.

Step 7: serve the air bagels with cherries.

We give the finished baking to cool slightly and then transfer to a beautiful plate, on top of the dish you can decorate with powdered sugar or sesame seeds. As a drink, hot aromatic tea, cocoa or coffee is suitable, and for children you can serve warm milk or freshly squeezed juice. Air bagels with cherries are ready! Enjoy your meal!

- - Before you start baking, you must sift the flour, thereby it is enriched with oxygen and gets rid of unnecessary flour lumps.
